Cal Women Win 1st of Series

The University of California women's team started their short, two-match series against Oregon teams with a 38-14 defeat of University of Oregon Saturday.

Lauren Butler scored four tries for the Bears, who also got tries from Laureina Toler, Stacey Wong and Kelly Doran. Tania Maxwell and Vickie Garcia added two conversions each.

Sunday Cal hosts Oregon State at Witter Rugby Field.
