USA End Nations Cup on Win
National Teams - USA Women

The USA ended its Women's Nations Cup campaign with a 29-9 win over South Africa, ending the tournament 1-3 in third place.

South Africa took an early lead when it slotted two of its three penalties to go up 6-0. Fullback Pam Kosanke answered in turn (6-3) before wing Vanesha McGee motored into the try zone for the first five-pointer of the day. Kosanke's conversion gave the Americans a 10-6 lead after the first quarter, and there the score stood until half.

Lock Laura Miller dotted down her first-ever international try (15-6) to kick off the second half. The Springboks kept it close with their final penalty of the day (15-9), but two more tries from inside center Sam Pankey and McGee, along with two Kosanke conversions, put 20 points between the Americans and RSA.

The win was a retributive one. South Africa won the teams' last match on the last play of the game.
