| Eagles Lose Competitively to New Zealand |
| Sevens - USA Sevens Men | |||
The Eagles started their 2012/2013 IRB 7s World Series with a 19-7 loss to New Zealand in Gold Coast, Australia Friday. It was their fifth-straight pool loss going back to the London tournament in May. The All Blacks jumped out to a 14-0 lead with a pair of Mark Jackman tries in the opening half, both of which were converted by Tomasi Cama. Carlin Isles subbed on for the USA in the second minute of the second half and scored shortly thereafter. Tai Enosa slotted the conversion to draw the Eagles within one score at 14-7. With under a minute and a half to play, New Zealand's Gareth Williams-Spiers dotted down the All Blacks' third try to round out the scoring. The Eagles used their entire bench in the second half.
