Members of the USA men’s 7s program spent part of Saturday at the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation Taste at the Cove charity event.

The event was put on in part by Dr. David Chou, who has worked closely with the USA 7s team for years. The players and coaches worked as spotters at the charity auction – helping the auctioneer identify bidders. They also got to sample plenty of free food.

“It was a great event,” said team assistant coach Andy Katoa. “The food was really good, and a lot of people know about us that didn’t know us before.”

Fans will see a few new faces in the photo, including Nate Augspurger, Brett Thompson, and Mike Te’o. All of these players, plus others, are going to be in camp and will be working longer-term with the USA team, either as players in residency, or living in the area and hoping to get a contract.
