London Match a Big Deal for USA Rugby Team
National Teams - USA Men

The USA Men's National rugby team got what they wanted in their tour of Europe in November - something they wanted in 2012.

USA fullback and Saracens star Chris Wyles will get to play for his country on his club field. On November 16, the USA will face Georgia in Tbilisi, most likely at Achvala Rugby Stadium in the republic's capital.

That venue was to be expected. However, the third match was under question. USA Rugby has long wanted to play a test match in London, to expose the team to the large community of ex-pats who live and work in Britain's largest city. Last year, that plan fell through as the Eagles played two games in Colwyn Bay, Wales, beating Russia and losing to Tonga.

This year, the USA will face Russia at Allianz Park, the home of Saracens. Coincidentally, this is the club where USA fullback Chris Wyles plays. The teams will face off Friday, November 22.

For the USA rugby team it will be a chance to expose Americans in the UK to the American players, and perhaps give ex-pat Americans something to talk about when their workmates talk rugby.

It couldn't hurt to get some sponsors interested in the team, either.
