USA A and Glendale Ready for Match on Wednesday
National Teams - USA Men

Back in Denver, the USA National Team turns its attention to Wednesday’s clash with a Glendale Selects side.

This match, set for Infinity Park in Glendale, Colo., at 7pm on Wednesday night (click here for tickets), is designed to give USA hopefuls who didn’t play (or didn’t play much) on Saturday a chance to show what they can do. Glendale has been given the task of providing a tough opposing force.

And it looks as though the hosts have done that. Head Coach Mark Bullock said he didn’t want to bring in outside players unless they were willing to commit to a series of practices, and in fact the only non-Glendale players expected to start are either from Denver, or played for Glendale in previous seasons.

It is possible one more player might come in for Tuesday’s final training, but that is not confirmed.

The teams have not been announced, but with some inside information and a little deduction, RUGBYMag.com can make some assumptions:

Front Rows:
USA looks to be Mike MacDonald, Brian McClenahan and Will Johnson, with, most likely, Eric Fry and Chris Biller on the bench.

Glendale looks to have Chris Baumann, Shae Tamati and Pat Carroll up front. Jacob Nelson is probably on the bench.

Second Rows:
The USA second row will probably be Scott LaValla and Cam Dolan, although it’s possible Dolan might be used in the back row.

Glendale will feature an impressive back row of Casey Rock and Alec Parker, with Hayden Mexted and Matt Doubek on the bench.

Back Rows:
USA looks to use Pat Danahy and JJ Gagiano, and probably Inaki Basauri.

Glendale will use former Glendale Raptor and current Utah Warrior Ryab Chapman and Pat Doyle. Spencer Scott is to be confirmed pending a fitness test. Brad WInbush is likely to be on the bench.

Halfback Hinge
Robbie Shaw and, most likely, Troy Hall will get the look, although it could be that Hall slots in at center and Roland Suniula takes flyhalf.

Former USA captain Andre Bachelet and Denver Barbarians flyhalf Max de Achaval are slated to start.

Centers
USA Coach Eddie O’Sullivan has several choices here: Junior Sifa could be at inside center or outside. Same with Roland Suniula, who might also start at flyhalf, with Troy Hall playing center. Tai Enosa and Colin Hawley could also be at outside center. Out guess is Troy Hall at flyhalf, Roland Suniula at inside, and Junior Sifa at outside.

It’s a little simpler for Glendale, where Ata Malifa and Justin Howley are likely to start in the midfield.

Wings/Fullback
Tai Enosa, Zack Test and Colin Hawley seem the likely USA trio here, but in what combination isn’t sure.

Glendale’s back three is also unconfirmed, although expect to see Dewon Reed and Dustin Croy in the mix somewhere.
