Samoa defeated Australia 28-7 in Day Two of the USA 7s, and that was good news for the USA.

With the result, Australia dropped to 1-2. Now 0-2 USA plays 1-1 Spain. If the Eagles win by 14 or more, then they will advance to the Cup Quarterfinals through points difference.

If the USA wins by 14, the standings would look like this:

Samoa 3-0 +33
USA 1-2 -10
Spain 1-2 -11
Australia 1-2 -12
