Kenyan Star to Join 7s Squad for Vegas
Tournaments - USA Sevens Tournament

Pending the naming of the final travelling party, it is now a dead certainty that Kenya 7s star Humphrey Kayangewill play for Kenya in the Las Vegas leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Reliable  sources within the Kenya Rugby setup informed Rugbymag that Kayange's name will feature in the list of the final travelling party of 12 players to be selected head coach Mitch Ocholla.

The announcement to be first revealed to the players, before being made public, is expected before Thursday January 18 with the team scheduled to fly out to Wellington on January 27.

Kayange, captain over the past 3 years and Kenya's most prolific scorer and outstanding player of the series, makes the team almost by default. He was due to have joined Bristol University in England to pursue his Master's degree in Biochemistry in October. However a mix-up in the paperwork for his visa means he will have to delay enrolling.

With University's closing down for Christmas in Mid-December, Kayange found himself still training and playing rugby in Kenya for his local club side Mwamba. Mwamba RFC beat Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB RFC) 22-10 in the premier Kenya Cup League over the weekend of January 14. Kayange played the entire game at flanker.

Rugbymag will of course bring you the confirmation of his being on the travelling party to Las Vegas, the moment the team is officially named.
