Women Eagles Fall Short in Final
Tournaments - Stations Casinos LVI

Canada took the first possession into American territory, but lost it after a forward pass. Directly following the set piece, Canada stole the ball in the break down and Mandy Marchak made the Eagles pay for losing possession in their own 22. Ashley Patzer converted to put Canada up 7-0.

The Eagles put together some offensive continuity and took the ball into the Canadian 22, but once again lost the ball in contact. Deven Owsiany pushed Jen Kish into touch, regaining possession. The Eagles swung the ball wide to Vanesha McGee, who raced past here opposite and into the try zone. Beth Black missed the straight-on conversion, leaving USA down 7-5.

The Eagles had possession for the end of the first half, but Katie Dowty cleared into touch, resulting in intermission.

USA kicked deep to start the second half, and actually took possession after Canada lost the ball forward in a tackle. But, McGee was shoved into touch, and on the ensuing Canadian possession Marchak found a hole in USA’s defense and offloaded to Ghislaine Landry who took it the rest of the way. 14-5 Canada.

Kelly Griffin chose to grubber on USA’s next attack, but the ball went through the back of the try zone. USA got another chance, but Katie Dowty knocked on a poorly thrown pass.

The Eagles wheeled the scrum and charged toward the Canadian line. Vix Folayan was caught, and the ball was shifted across field, but to no support. The ball squirted out the back of the ruck, and Canada cleared it to touch to seal the 14-5 win.
