Fort Benning, Ga. - Defending champions Air Force are in the driver's seat after two impressive victories on Day One of the United States Armed Forced Rugby Championships. The USAF's 34-0 shutout of the Marine Corps and 31-5 defeat of the United States Navy weren't particularly surprising, given the Air Force's domination of this competition in recent years. But what was somewhat surprising was Coast Guard's start. The USCG showed solid defense in beating the Navy 18-8 and the United States Army 19-7 to go 2-0. Cast Guard was second last year, beating Navy and the Marines, tying Army, and losing to Air Force in pool play and the final. Air Force has won the last seven Armed Forces Championships.
