Prospects for the Harlequins dimmed considerably after just eight minutes. An outburst by one of the Harlequins following his reception of a yellow card, turned the offense into a red card and the visiting Texans played the remaining 72 minutes of the match with just 14 men.

First Half
NYAC’s scoring parade started in the second minute when Eagle loose forward Lou Stanfill made a long break inside Dallas’s half and then offloaded to No. 8 Al McFarland for a try that wing Rob Johnson converted, 7-0.

Fullback Chris Chapman scored NYAC’s second try on a set play 15 yard’s from Dallas’s line in the eighth minute, 12-0. Flanker Neil McMillan crossed for the host’s third try at the end of a multi-phase, 30 yard movement in the 11th minute and Johnson converted, 19-0.

A brilliant individual effort by wing Frank Gianchetta in the 21st minute produced the AC’s fourth try and Eagle scrumhalf Mike Petri scored their 5th at the end of a multi-phase, length of the field effort in the 24th.

Wing Rob Johnson nailed both conversions, extending NYAC’s lead to 33-0.

The Harlequins finally got on the board in the 27th minute when scrumhalf Shawn Begg scored in the corner following a 20 meter run, 33-5. Begg would touch down again in the 39th minute, following multiple Dallas attacks on the AC line from in close. Shawn Begg’s conversion brought the halftime score to 33-12.

Second Half
The New York AC made multiple substitutions at the break, bringing in replacements for Eagles Petri and Stanfill among them.

Still, it was the hosts who opened the second half scoring in the 10th minute when NYAC hooker Conor Coyne touched down after multiple close-in attacks on the Harlequins’ line. Johnson converted, 40-12.

Dallas replied three minutes later when Sam Rooke crossed for a try that Begg improved 40-19. But that would be the visitors’ last hurrah.

NYAC added an unconverted try by lock James Denise in the 22nd minute, a try and conversion by reserve back Max Levine in the 42nd, bringing the final score to 52-19.
