Unufe Brothers Join 7s All Americans
Sevens - All-Stars

Keaweamahi and Keoki Unufe, the younger brothers of USA player Maka Unufe, will join the 7s All Americans for the National All Star Championships Friday and Saturday in Chula Vista, Calif.

They carry with them physical attributes similar to brother Maka – both are tall, rangy, fast and strong. Both are also very raw, and are only 18 and 19, respectively. They accompanied Maka to Chula Vista, ostensibly to get exposed to training in Chula Vista, and when the All Americans found out they will be hit by injuries (Cam Dolan is day-to-day), Head Coach Tony Pacheco drafted them into the team.

Pacheco said the definition of “All American” is stretched somewhat to accommodate the Unufe brothers, adding that since they are in the USA U20 system, they will be called All Americans, but not Collegiate All Americans, as neither is in college at the moment.

Keoki will slot in as a back, while the more robust Keaweamahi will fill in at among the forwards.
