MARFU v SoCal in Women's NASC Plate Final
Sevens - All-Stars

Chula Vista, CA - The plate final has been set for the Women's National All Star Championship. The Mid-Atlantic and Southern California both won their semifinals and will play in a rematch of the tournament's first game.

Ida Berstein added two tries to her weekend total during MARFU's win over the South.

It was the first win of the championship for the Griffins, who bettered the Midwest 26-5. The Thunderbirds only had six players on the pitch, and that extra room was enough to see high schooler Jamie Garcia (2), Asian Garcia and Shaina Turley into the try zone. Lo Stender added three conversions. The Midwest's Kate Daley, an alumnus of this year's Nations Cup, prevented the shutout with a try.

The Griffins won't have the luxury of extra field space against MARFU, which ran away with a 37-0 victory over the South. The Panthers are still winless in the two days of competition, and have one last shot for a W in the 7th place match against the Midwest.

Ida Bernstein once again led all point scorers, adding another two tries and bringing her weekend total to 8. Eli White, Lauren Hoeck, Megan Hanson, Beth Black and Sam Pankey also scored tries.

MARFU won the first matchup against Southern California yesterday morning, and while they're favored to win the Plate, the Griffins have built some confidence in their scoring ability and will be looking to bank one more win this weekend.
