Champs Crowned in New England Challenge Cup

The New England Challenge Cup was held over the past two days on the campus of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham, Mass, with age-grade all-stars teams from several states competing.

U19 and U17 boys and girls teams from all over the Northeast assembled for two days of games, a banquet and awards ceremonies.

USA Rugby Selectors as well as a host of college and university coaches were on hand to watch these elite high school players, and Massachusetts had a good weekend, winning both the Boys U19 and U17 brackets, both times over Connecticut. In the Girls U19 bracket, the Empire team from Western New York defeated Eastern Pennsylvania to take the championship.
