The University of Tennessee, unbeaten in a series of college friendlies and club games, showed that it wasn’t all smoke and mirrors as the Volunteers defeated #9 Colorado State and lost to #6 Colorado by only three in a two-game tour of the Rocky Mountain State.
That trip vaulted Tennessee right into the middle of the top-ranked teams, as the previously-unranked Vols jump to #7.
LSU, which beat the higher-ranked Arkansas State jumps up to #8 while ASU slips to #11. Among the other big moves is Wisconsin, now 3-0 in their Midwest league and winners over #12 Minnesota. The Badgers jump in at #14.
This weekend we will see plenty of action among ranked and almost-ranked teams. Among the events set for this weekend: #1 Navy v. #4 Delaware, #18 Kutztown v. #22 Rutgers, the Big XII (featuring #8 LSU and #16 Texas A&M), SEC (featuring #7 Tennessee), #12 Central Washington against aspiring U. Washington, #13 Ohio State v. Indiana, #20 Bowling Green v. cusp team Notre Dame, #10 CSU v. #17 Air Force, and #6 Colorado v. #23 Wyoming.
Yes, we’ll learn a lot this weekend.
