USA Rugby Announces Partnership with Marine Corps

USA Rugby announced Friday that the United States Marine Corps is now an Official Partner of USA Rugby Collegiate Division 1A.

Rugby and the military have long been intertwined, with the Service Academies usually among the best college programs in the country, and the National Guard becoming a major sponsor of college rugby in 2008-09.

“It’s an honor to partner with any branch of the U.S. military, but especially with the United States Marine Corps. The Marines have been vital in securing freedoms that we enjoy today in the United States and D1A Rugby is truly proud to call the Marine Corps a partner,” said USA Rugby Director of Operations, Jim Snyder.

The USMC will have a presence at the D1A semifinals and championship, as well as select regular season games.
