| Sevens - Collegiate Sevens |
|
The Longhorns entered the double elimination tournament as the top seed, having earned it in the two prior Southwest 7s tournaments, which served as pool play for Saturday's championship. The Longhorns beat St. Edward's 24-10 in the final. St. Ed's lost its first game Saturday to North Texas and had to fight its way through the loser's bracket to make it to the final. In the Championship match, St. Edward's came out strong by scoring two quick tries. Texas would score once before the half, so St. Edward's went into the break leading 10-7. The second was all Texas, which kept St. Edward's scoreless for the win.
