The University of Central Florida defeated Florida State 24-5 in the final of the 1st tournament in the Florida 7s series Saturday in Estero, Fla.

Central Florida was impressive all day. Pushed by Embry-Riddle early on, UCF kept improving, shutting out FSU in pool play and then destroying a solid Naples U23s squad 54-0 in the semis.

Florida State had to work hard to edge previously unbeaten Florida in the semis.

Two more tournament swill be held this month, next week in Gainesville and then a week later in Daytona Beach.
