There is one more seed in the men’s bracket and two more in the women’s bracket remain to be figured out for the USA Rugby 7s National Championships.

The women’s holdovers are because it’s unclear whether the West will send any teams at all. Reports are they won’t, which would mean two more teams have to be found somewhere. (New York, the #2 team from the Northeast, has already stated they won’t make the trip to San Francisco, and have been replaced by the #3 team, the Falcons.)

Meanwhile it’s all about the math for the last men’s seed. After Santa Monica finished a somewhat surprise 2^nd in the OMBAC 7s, and OMBAC finished 3^rd, those two teams end up tied for 3^rd in the standings with 49 points.

Officials are meeting right now to figure out what the overall won-loss records are for these teams through the three qualifier tournaments. That will be the tiebreaker, followed by points difference.
