Sevens - Club Sevens

It’s a quiet weekend in 7s rugby this weekend as the 4^th of July long weekend means many events are taking time off.
But three tournaments are worth note on a national level.

In San Francisco, SFGG is hosting the Golden Gate Invitational at Ray Sheeran Field on Treasure Island Saturday starting at 9:30. No confirmation of teams yet, but hosts SFGG, and San Mateo are expected to be strong contenders in this dress rehearsal for the national finals. Space still available www.sfggrugby.com

And on July 4th itself, Joint Base Fort Lewis McChord in Washington state hosts the SOF 7s, a great rugby celebration of the region's connection to the military.

Further east in Park City, Utah, the next step in the series of 7s tournaments in the Beehive State goes on. The Utah Warriors have looked strong so far, winning all their matches and led by Jason Pye and Mike Palefau. Their big rivals are Humless, the team Pye and Palefau played for last summer. Humless have only lost two matches so far this summer, both to the Warriors.

And then on the East Coast, the storied Cape Fear 7s covers the entire weekend with six divisions.

It’s a tough Premier Division to handicap because the teams involved are most all-star teams. However, two clubs, the Chicago Lions and 1823 will test themselves against some tough compilation sides.
