Only three meaningful games have been played since our last publication, and they all played out as our rankings suggested they would, with the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater emerging National Champs.
Since there are no new developments, there’s no need for change. Sure, there will always be contention about who should be ranked where, but there are no travesties here.
The South turned out to be better than many would probably have predicted, with ECU having a strong showing at Nationals. Remember, they were involved in a three-way tie in their league, and they lost to Appalachian State, so that is why they’re where they are, and why UNC Wilmington is as high as it is.
The Midwest is also well represented in our list, as they should be given Whitewater’s performance. The Pacific Coast was very good, with several teams being competitive, especially in Northern California.
1. (1) UW-Whitewater. 16-0 Won DII National Championship 2. (2) Middlebury. 15-1 Finished second to UW-Whitewater 3. (3) Salisbury. 12-3 Lost 29-26 to Middlebury in semis 4.
