Move over Lindenwood, you're not the only team that can score 100 points in a league game. Salisbury can, too. They hung 112 on George Wachington Saturday, a week after beating Maryland, who is ranked in DI and the defending Atlantic Coast champion.
Whitewater fell just four points shy of 100 against N. Michigan, Northern Illinois posted 85 on Northwestern, Georgetown piled up 84 on Catholic and Northern Colorado scored 72 on New Mexico. Is it because these teams are playing in a league with that poor of competition, or because these teams are that good? Probably a mix of both. Needless to say, all the big scorers listed above have done well in our list. One team who has dropped entirely out of our 25 is East Carolina, as they've apparently gone off the grid. Multiple attempts to reach a team official have fallen flat over the last few weeks, and there appears to be little or no record of them actually playing a game this fall, though they typically do. Appalachian State, a long-time ECU rival, pulled a similar disappearing act earlier this fall. However, that was because the team had been suspended from campus indefinitely. It's now reinstated and scrambling to compile a league schedule. There is no reason to believe ECU has suffered a similar suspension, but it's not fair to teams who are playing and winning to rank a team who has no record of doing either this season. Some of those teams who are winning too much to be ignored are Pitt, North Dakota State, AIC, Ohio and Xavier. They combine for an aggregate record of 21-0-3. 1.
