Parity is starting to set in across DI-AA, with several surprise results coming from the weekend. The biggest shock was Brown tying Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H. Sure, the Bears played the Big Green close last year, but no one in the Ivy has not lost to Dartmouth in recent memory.
Dartmouth did lose a ton of talent over the offseason, including at the coaching position. So there was sure to be some transition, but the tie is a surprise nonetheless, and it’s good enough to bring Brown in from the unranked realm into the top 10, and it knocks Dartmouth down just a few slots to No. 8.
All three ranked teams from the Empire, Stony Brook, St. Bonaventure and Iona, lost last weekend. The Seawolves fell to Army, so no sin there. But Iona dropped two games and AIC was shut out, so both fall from the Top 25.
Leapfrogging Stony Brook is Bowling Green, which recorded its second-straight 70-point win. The Falcons are running away with the MAC Schools Conference.
Arkansas enters the fray at No. 23 after stomping Iowa State 75-0 in its Heart of America opener. The Razorbacks are the preseason favorite to finish second in the league behind Lindenwood.
