Those results just prove we shouldn't have given the Scarlet Knights credit for simply playing in DI-A in the past. Rutgers did have some close games during their time in DI-A, but have suffered a lot of turnover and will need to rebuild into a competitive Empire team. The biggest movement from last week was dropping Rutgers out of the list, bumping everyone behind them up one spot and slotting Northern Illinois in at No. 25. The Huskies beat Ohio 31-12 in the opening week of MAC Schools play and appear to be ready for DI-AA competition. They'd been a stout DII club in recent years. American International College (AIC) is another new DI-AA team that has started well. The Yellow Jackets pounded Yale 44-0 in a non-conference friendly Saturday and have leapfrogged idle Chico State. The menu of DI-AA games this week is more full, with the Heart of America, East Coast and Iv League all beginning play. 1. (1) Cal Dropped Out |

We're only one week into DI-AA 15s play, and there's really only been one surprise -- Rutgers being blown out by Brockport and Syracuse.
