The second week of conference play in the Cardinals Collegiate Rugby Conference (CCRC) saw two close matches and two runaways.

Old Dominion University (ODU) hosted James Madison University (JMU) and eked out a 22-21 win.

ODU got two tries from John Zummo and one from Paul Stephens, while Jake Humphrey converted two and added a penalty goal. For JMU Schuyler Whelan, Zach Wilmont, and Alex Federinko scored tries and Chris Kunkel converted all three.

Old Dominion scrumhalf Zummo was named man of the match.

In Fredericksburg, VA, the University of Mary Washington (UMW) outlasted VMI, winning 25-14.  UMW got tries from Cullen Lawlor (2), Luke Bressen, and Adrian Martinez.  Ryan Miller had a conversion and penalty kick to round out UWM’s scoring.  VMI got tries from Parker Searing and Chieves Chillers, and Ray Donahue converted both.  UMW fullback Bressen was the man of the match.

Longwood University ran their conference record to 2-0 with a solid 31-0 win over the University of Richmond.  For the second week in a row, Adam Chamberlain and Joe Burr each scored two tries and Ben Smith added a lone try. Colin McKee kicked three conversions.

Longwood win Charlie Hoever was the man of the match.  In the final CCRC match of the weekend, William and Mary took Virginia Commonwealth University by a score of 39-5.  Sergio D'Onofrio had the lone try for VCU.
