Miami Rugby Club improved to 3-0 after Saturday's 45-0 thrashing of the Pelicans in the South DII Club competition, Florida Conference. Miami surged to 3-0 in the South Florida-South. Meanwhile, the Tridents rebounded from last week's close loss to still-undefeated Orlando with a 20-12 win over Fort Lauderdale. David Hogan scored a try and speedy French-born wing Charles Bonnel bagged two for the Tridents, with Stav Bulgarides claiming the rest on kicks. Winners also were Tampa Krewe's DII side. The Krewe are now 2-2, having won both their games by a point, including Saturday's 20-19 edging of Jacksonville. There's plenty of rugby left, but it seems a two-horse race in the South Florida-North between the Krewe and Orlando. Meanwhile further South, Miami and the Tridents are close, but they will both have to contend with Naples, who are 2-0. (Note: Details in this article, namely Miami's record, and the standings have been adjusted. We've had a tough time tracking down all the scores in this league for some reason - most clubs don't list all their updated scores and USA Rugby South doesn't, either. So we've been doing our best.
