Santa Rosa Junior College defeated San Jose State in DI-AA Pacific Western Conference play Saturday, paced by three tries from Nate Vasileff.
San Jose State actually got on the scoreboard first with a try from an interception. But SRJC rebounded with three tries before halftime, all converted by Jack Murphy, to make for a 21-5 lead at the break.
In the second half Santa Rosa scored two more, with Murphy true on his kicks despite a stiff breeze. San Jose State made it closer with two unconverted tries late.
Tyler Laron and James Rodrigues also scored tries for SRJC.
