New York City - In a match played at their home field in New York City, Columbia University’s men’s team upped its Ivy record to 2-0 with a 27-14 comeback win over visiting Princeton. In so doing, Columbia took sole possession of first place in the Ivy League’s South Division

Princeton opened the scoring after four minutes when wing Nick Martin touched down at the conclusion of a 60 meter movement and Matt Hepburn converted, 7-0.

Columbia answered in the 26^th minute with an unconverted try by scrumhalf Alex Plana, 7-5.

Princeton missed scoring opportunities when they passed up an easy shot at goal in the 32^nd minute and when their drive from the two was held up in goal by the Columbia defense in the 39^th.

Columbia took the lead in the 43^rd minute when flyhalf Pete Callelo scored at the conclusion of a 40 meter counter attack and Alex Plana converted, 12-7.

Princeton regained the lead two minutes after the restart when flanker Etienne Gallant scored at the conclusion of a 30 meter breakaway and Matt Hepburn converted, 14-12.

The rest of the scoring, however, was all Columbia, as the Lions took a 15-14 lead in the seventh minute with a penalty goal by Alex Plana.

An unconverted try by Columbia prop Mike Poage increased the host’s lead to 20-14 three minutes later.

Columbia iced the game in the 19^th minute with a try by flyhalf Pete Palello that Alex Plana converted, 27-14.
