Bowling Green defeated Ball State 74 - 0 in a thunderstorm-shortened match Saturday. Bowling Green’s forwards dominated the Cardinals, scoring 11 of the Falcons’ 12 tries. BGSU led 36-0 at halftime. Doing most of the damage for the Falcons were flanker Frank Viancourt, No. 8 Bryan Kean and hooker Mike Brown, each with three tries apiece. Brown's hat trick gave him five tries in the past two games. Prop Dane Szente had 14 points and was 7-7 on conversion kicks after taking over the kicking duties mid-way through the first half. Also scoring were flanker Justin Stevens, lock Mike Treon and center Dominic Mauer. "I know Ball State has taken it on the chin the last three weeks, but they have some good backs and some huge forwards. Things will turn around for them,” said Bowling Green’s Roger Mazzarella.
“They just hit us on the wrong weekend. Some days every single thing you try just clicks, and it certainly was that way for us today. Our guys were concerned that we could have played better last weekend against NIU and put a lot of extra time into practice this week." The win improves Bowling Green to 3-0 in MAC Schools play and drops Ball State to 0-3
