Oregon State Keeps Winning

The Oregon State rugby club shook off a sluggish first half to score 47consecutive points in the second half and defeat Eastern Washington University 59-24. 

The Beaver ruggers started off in good shape as prop Sean Clark scored 5 minutes into the game with Sean Ostlund converting for a quick 7-0 lead.  Five minutes later  Eastern Washington slotted a penalty kick bringing the score to 7-3. 

The Beavers responded within the next 5 minutes as winger Nathan Kimmel scored the first of his two trys.  Ostlund's conversion failed.  Oregon State then went scoreless for the remaining of the half while Eastern Washington put two trys, one converted, on the board to take a 19-12 halftime lead.  The Beavers then took coach John Queen's words of possession, pressure and position to heart as they scored 47 unanswered points with flanker Mitch Fargher tallying three tries, wing Cole D'Ambra two tries, Nathan Kimmel his second try and no. 8 Jake Helbling one try while Ostlund went 6 for 7 on  conversion kicks. 

Lock Charles Findeisen was named man of the match for his outstanding defense, lineout play, and ball retention.
