Metropolis rebounded from last week's loss to the Chicago Griffins with a 51-12 defeat of Palmer in Iowa.

"This was a very gratifying win," said Player-Coach Nate Osborn. "We learned a harsh lesson last week that you have to be humble and you have to respect every team. If we don't do that, we'll find ourselves losing more games. So we had our best week of practices and the guys were really committed on game day."

Eagle lock Graham Harriman was held out in anticipation of his USA camp attendance starting tomorrow, but Patrick Latu did play, as Metropolis was short in the front row. Latu had a huge game, but, added Osborn, lock Nick Barrett probably had his best game of the season.

Also in the Midwest, the Chicago Lions edged Kansas City 27-26.

"It's really tough to make that trip from Kansas City, so good on them for coming here and never giving up," said Chicago Lions Head Coach Marty Wiggins. "But our guys are starting to understand what we need to do. It's taken a while, but sometimes you can learn the lesson until you get in a game. This was a good game for us."

Milwaukee won their 5th in a row, beating Cincinnati, and Columbus got a bonus-point win over the Chicago Griffins 38-34.
