The Austin Huns, Dallas Harlequins and Dallas Reds all won in Texas DI club league play this weekend, putting some distance between the top four and bottom three in the league.

The Huns defeated The Woodlands 71-18 to move to 3-1 and retain 2nd place behind the idle (and 4-0) Austin Blacks. Seven Huns scored 11 tries, with Mike Montgomery racing over for two, and hooker Mike Spencer distinguishing himself with a try and overall strong play.

Right behind the Huns are the Dallas Harlequins, which battled to a 39-32 victory over Houston. The teams were deadlocked at 15-15 at halftime, and then HARC took a ten-point lead before a concerted comeback by the 'Quins put them up to stay with five minutes left.

Houston is still in the playoff hunt thanks to two bonus points for a close loss and four tries.

The Dallas Reds improved to 2-2 with a 27-12 defeat of Forth Worth. The Reds back row of Chad Joseph, Colin Yerian and Rhys Ball were especially useful for Dallas while scrumhalf Trevor Bradfield and fullback Mike Kenealy were standouts, also.

Club president Jeff Kolberg said his team squandered some scoring opportunities, and had a lot of work to do to contain Fort Worth fullback Jacobi Cary, who excelled on offense and defense.
