After being thrashed 61-17 a week ago against Santa Monica, the San Diego Old Aztecs pulled off a bit of a shock, getting a late try from Jeff Diggs to beat OMBAC 31-28 Saturday in SoCal DI club action.

With the entire back row of flanker Diggs, flanker Bryan Barnard, and No. 8 Chase Burge playing well, and backed by wing Micah Kropp and a solid effort from the tight five, the Old Aztecs put in a much improved performance this week.

"We feel we belong in DI and wanted to prove that," said Sean Lindersmith. "We were much more disciplined this week than last, especially on defensive rucks, deciding when to counter-ruck and when to fan out and defend. The biggest difference for us this week was getting numbers on numbers."

OMBAC drops to 1-2, while the Old Aztecs improve to 1-1.
