Glendale, Provo Deadlocked
Clubs - Men's DI Clubs

The Provo Steelers and Glendale Raptors battled to a tough 15-15 tie in West DI club league action Saturday in Utah.

The Raptors were missing a few starters due to a variety of issues, but pitched up bravely against a bigger, physical Provo team.

The teams were deadlocked 15-15 at halftime, but the game was stymied a bit as a spectacle when two Provo players were red-carded within minutes of each other. One was for a dangerous hit after the whistle, and the other was for punching.

Down to 13 men, somehow the Steelers kept Glendale out of the try zone and salvaged a draw.

“I am very proud of our guys and how they stood up and played above their weight,” said Glendale Head Coach Andre Snyman. “It wasn’t easy, but we’ll take the draw on the road. We had some scoring opportunities, and it was a bit frustrating not to be able to score any points when we played about 35 minutes up two men, but Provo really buckled down and were determined to stop us.”
