Buffalo and Old Blue are 3-0 in the Empire DI men after victories Saturday. Old Blue won easily, 45-0 over New York. Meanwhile Buffalo had a tough one against a good White Plains team. Buffalo edged WP 31-27.

White Plains got bonus points for a close loss and four tries, so while they dropped to 2-1, it's a heavily-pointed 2-1.

Also winning Saturday Long Island 25-8 over Morris. Long Island might have wondered what happened to their goalkicking as they scored five tries, but converted none.

And the Village Lions shocked Monmouth 45-21. This was the first DI club victory for the Lions in 17 years. For Monmouth, it was a tough day, punctuated by a tweeted note by a club rep that said "Man of the match to the 6 A side players who didn't come."

Monmouth, which had a shot to move into 2nd place, is now 4th.
