USA Rugby announced its dates and venues for spring high school, U19, college and club championships Monday. However, some locations have not yet been decided.
Per USA Rugby’s press release, two locations (northeast and south) for Women's DI and DII College playoffs are yet to be finalized. USA Rugby's events department is currently in discussions with potential hosts for those two locations, and hope to have them finalized by February.
USA Rugby Event Director Jen Gray expects to finalize the remaining 2012 championship events, including men’s and women’s club sevens and several all-star events, by the end of April.
As suspected, the boys high school and high school club invitationals and men’s DI-A, D-IAA and DIII college championships will take place at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah May 18-19. The DI-A final will take place on Saturday the 19th, with the semifinals set to take place then week prior. Venues for the semifinals have not yet been released.
The 2011 DI-A semifinals were staged at Glendale, Colo. and were aired on ESPNU. They were held at a neutral site so both could receive television coverage. It’s unclear if this will happen again.
