Belmont Shore vs. LA Only Game in SoCal
Clubs - Men's DI Clubs
Only one of the four scheduled matches in Southern California's DI league got played, as Belmont Shore defeated Los Angeles 18-11 in wet conditions.

The conditions made other fields unusable (at least that's what the people in charge of the fields said), postponing three matches.

Los Angeles actually led into the second half 11-3. Shore benched some starters, but made some changes at halftime

So Belmont Shore improved to 5-0, although for the first time all season they fail to earn a bonus point for four tries scored.

In a tight, defensive game on a sloppy pitch, Shore got an excellent game from lock forward Leo Hunt.

"Leo is a big young guy who made lots of hard yards to get us go-forward," said Shore Director of Rugby James Walker.

The backs struggled to work together until Tai Enosa was brought on as a sub at flyhalf. Enosa, who had been playing with the USA 7s team, settled the threequarters down, wing Matt Kay came on to score a key try. Enosa did well to boot the ball into the corners in the second period, and Shore held on.

LA drops to 2-3, but does get a bonus point for a close loss, keeping them in striking distance of the top four.

"We felt like the guys held their composure and did the job," said Walker. "It's a W; I'm not worried about the bonus point because our intention is not to lose to anyone anyway."
