Cal hosts Arizona Saturday in one of three PAC match-ups Saturday. The second-ranked Golden Bears are 12-0 on the season, outscoring opponents 699-72, and 2-0 in PAC play.
“Obviously, they are a great team,” said Arizona Head Coach Dave Sitton of Cal. “We will have to play our very best, error free rugby in order to succeed.”
No. 14 Arizona is 3-2 and 0-1 in the PAC, having lost big to No. 6 Utah in Las Vegas. But the Wildcats are fresh off a 46-28 defeat of No. 15 Air Force.
“Getting a win against a team like Air Force gives us a chance to look at the areas we need to improve upon,” said Sitton.
“That’s the key right now, getting the win and putting ourselves in a position to win later on. We played better than we did against Utah, but there are still improvements to make.”
For Cal, the Arizona game is their first of two against ranked opponents in the next several days, as the Golden Bears host No. 7 Penn State on Monday.
