Gilitin209, The author of the Article is a former columnist for the Phila. Inquirer, a great columnist, in my opinion. Clark knows Rugby too. He coached Temple U after my time there. Great article. See you at CRC, Clark!

The article isn't really about the CRC, it's about service academy rugby. Why not comment about that? These are 2 great programs, only Air Force is left out. When these ruggers graduate, they will do more for their country in their 1st year as officers than most college grads will do in their lifetimes. Rugby is the ultimate stress relief for the cadets and middies, and they put on an amazing show for the limited practice time they are allowed at each of their schools due to academics, military and ethics training. Incredible group of ruggers and future officers!

BCS and this are not comparable at all. The BCS championship game is a one-off game where only 2 teams can play. This is a 16 team tournament. The best teams could have easily been selected. Sorry BC, UNC, Temple, etc but you do not deserve to be there over Life, Ark St., Ktown, and St. Mary's. Once again, great event and they can invite whoever they want, but to call it a national championship is fraudulent at best.

It is as much a championship as the college football BCS Championship game. Ask TCU or Boise State about not being invited to that. I am sure Life, Ark St and BYU all wish they could play for the 7s national championship, but just as in college football, there are politics. Of course CWU won its way in...

Agreed, but im pretty sure this wasn't written by Rugbymag, but is a press release by Army or Navy. These "releases" that rugbymag generously publishes usually contain quite a bit of inaccuracies.

I know rugbymag is owned by the same company as usa7s, but let's maintain some journalistic integrity. This is not a true national championship and everyone knows it. With Ktown, SMC, Life, Ark St not receiving invites this cannot be called a legit championship. Seeing that we are a week away from actually crowning one, you shouldnt go out of your way to sully it. CRC is going to be a great GREAT event but it didnt need to be called a championship. And if they wanted to call it a championship so bad, they should have invited the best damn teams. Cant have your cake and eat it too
