Hey O'Sullivan do you think you could have held your trials after the club championships. These are the clubs that pay your salary to be gutted at playoff time for your personal pleasure. What a crock .

I can't imagine that the US will become significantly better in international play until more players "make-it" oversees. Not unlike our American soccer counterparts playing in Europe or Mexico. Certainly, there a handful of Americans/Eagles playing rugby in France, Italy, three or so in the Aviva, four or five in the Enlgish second division, and one for an Irish college team. However, the return of Emerick, Petri, and JVG is a bit troubling. IMHO only. DC

I find it amazing yhat you waste clubs monies funding your ventures into international rugby for miserable results. Wake up. Build the club level rugby with the monies available and at some later date venture back into international rugby. The professional circuit will come to the USA long before the Eagles win a meaningful game. In the mean time USA rugby and its incredible idiots will suck dry the clubs to satisfy their egotistical whims. Once clubs recognize that USA rugby is about USA rugby and not the club organization you will be in trouble. The theory of walking before you run is valid today as it was 100+ years ago. Professional rugby will become a concept in the USA and hopefully expose the fools running USA rugby today.

My memory was that the Irish isolated themselves and kept the media out, which must have been Eddie's decisions. Even the English let their players have odd nights out on the town for a dinner and a quite drink, but Eddie had his in a compound and the any pressure/doubt/contention must have festered. The Irish team was made up of a lot of very experienced players who shouldn't have lost confidence. I think there is more to the story.
