Temple had a bunch of non-starters playing due to injuries and the fact that the game meant absolutely nothing to them. I know personally bc i was apart of the Temple team last season. And as far as being only as good as our top player last year, i believe we advanced to the final four with him out and the finals with him in a cast. They have a decent amount of returning starters from last season, along with some talented young guys. Temple will hang in the game against BG better than anyone has all season.

Can someone tell me about pool B Harvard is the only name I recognize. How strong is the NE in DI. Are there some sleepers in this group?

I admittedly know little about Temple, Florida, or Maryland. I was basing my opinions on Temple’s run at the DII championship last year. Either way I think BG will be a handful for whoever has to play them.

Temple stinks. I saw them play St Joes (a D2 team that got embarassed in the D2 playoffs). SJU owned them. They were only as good as their one player last year. They can not play any defense. Bowling Green is going to run all over them. This game will be over by half time. As for Davenport, you might be right. Minnesota is going to be a test for Davenport. After that Davenport can coast to the championship game.

You really think Temple is the second best team in that bracket? I'll have to respectfully disagree, both UF and UMD in my eyes are probably better, though Temple is a real strong squad.

It might not be THAT easy for BG and Davenport. BG has the 2nd best team in that bracket in the first round which means they’ll have to throw “the big guns” at them to insure a victory which could cause injuries which would hurt them the next day. Also remember Temple was the NATIONAL runner-up last year in DII. Davenport also has the 2nd best team in their bracket in the first round as well. Based on past games BG beat Davenport by 2+ trys both times they played, Minnesota almost came back and beat BG a few weeks ago, and it was Minnesota’s first game outside, and like BG against Temple, Davenport need to insure a victory on Saturday to move on. I personally think it’ll be a BG year, but it won’t be as easy as some are predicting. If that 7’s kid is back from injury it might be a little easier.

From what I understand there were 2 other bids for the National stage awarded to BG. One was in Gainesville, Fl (UF) and another in Atlanta. The Atlanta information however is hearsay. 45 Point margins of victory leave pretty huge boots to fill for bowling green... Davenport shouldn't have a problem with there final birth, they are on the path of "least resistance". @mwerugbyfan you should qualify that easiest with a tidbit about how there is no cream of the crop in bracket b meaning they will poorly destroy each other, in pool d 2 california teams will have to play each other for their final 4 bid, and in pool c davenport is the only varsity program meaning they should theoretically be head and shoulders above the competition.

It looks like it will be an all mid-west east championship game. Bowling Green has the easiest path to the final 4. No one in their bracket will be within 45 points of them. Then Davenport will only have to face one decent opponent in Texas. The finals will showcase a well rested Bowling Green team against a known opponent. Bowling Green should easily win the national championship.

And by the way, I think the winner of this whole thing is going to be Davenport. Do not underestimate what varsity status and scholarships can accomplish in a very short time.

Yes, that is exactly what I meant by "Pool of Life" (opposite of Pool of Death). Agree that Pool A is probably the toughest. It sucks for the teams to have to travel to Bowling Green, but none of them, nor anyone else in their geographic area, put in a bid to host that regional from what I understand.
