I so agree with the article. The PNFRFU teams will have played each other for their championship seeding and then end up playing each other again in Pacific Coast playoffs. Doesn't make sense at all.

Even with Tampa Krewe and OW in the South D1, every single team would receive a ticket to the round of 32. Not sure why Krewe would have turned that down. If you finished in the top 2 you even got a home crossover match. Then you go from D2 champs to D1 Sweet 16 if you can win the crossover.

I wonder if So Cal could ever do well enough to take one of those 3rd seeds. Certainly it won't happen in D2, but I wouldn't be shocked to see two So Cal teams make the final 4 (and do well) in D3.

Well, only since 2009 has the Round of 16 been split into two rounds of 8 (East and West). There are 7 territories. 4 of them are in the East. Hence, 2 teams each. The other 8 teams comes from PacCoast, West, and SoCal. Before that, when all 16 teams would play at the same venue, USA Rugby would rotate the 3rd seeds based on the prior year's performances of the TU's.

So why do you guys think the Pac Coast has the most seeds out of anybody. Cause the best has always come out of there. Cant deny that. Also the percentages just add to the questions of why would the league let Krewe stay down and why would they even want to.?? 30 teams for 2 seeds...wow...

I looked into it further after seeing SoCal with only 7 teams. Summary of D2 Clubs and percent that makes the playoffs: Pac Coast: 25 teams, 3 seeds, 12% West: 19 teams, 3 seeds, 16% So Cal: 7 teams, 2 seeds, 29% South: 30 teams, 2 seeds, 7% Midwest: 21 teams, 2 seeds, 10% MARFU: 13 teams, 2 seeds, 15% Northeast: 22 teams, 2 seeds, 9%

Pat,your plan would eliminate one of the Arizona teams. The current one is the best given the circumstances. When USARFU makes SoCal play in a D2 competitive region like D 1, it will make more sense
