Will coach Horowitz be there?!? I read some cool comments from him over the past few weeks, he seems like my kind of coach. Me and him could have some good times.

Yea, I didn't know that calling it a combine meant it had to include scholarship offers. Think of it as a college fair then. I just hope there is someone qualified running the drills/whatever and not some coach from a random Pa program.

While rugby is a club sport at most colleges, there are many colleges that are at varsity status or a heightened club sport status. There are many colleges around the country that offer assisted admission and scholarships (as the article stated) through the rugby teams; to say that no college coach can legitimately offer anything is completely wrong. It gives the players an opportunity to meet coaches and learn about programs that they wouldn't have thought of otherwise or didn't even know existed.

why would we put kids through a combine in front of coaches when college rugby is a club sport? Its not as if any college coach can legitimately (or legally for that matter) tell a high school kid that the club can guarantee a scholarship, or that a kid is not good enough to play for their team unless that team has varsity status. I think the term "combine" is the wrong one to use in this instance.
