trugby, the decision for CWU to drop out of DI-AA actually came from them however the wheels had been set in motion awhile back. Although CWU, UBC and SFU were all in the NCRC none were eligible for DI-AA playoffs, which led to some not treating every league game as being meaningful. It no longer made sense for the NCRC to continue to have league games on the books that some members didn't feel were meaningful and the league voted as such to eliminate that dynamic. The best way forward is to continue what we have started in the NCRC. Teams that were good enough were asked to step up from DII and it has created a very competitive structure. You can't wake up Saturday un prepared and expected to win in the NW anymore. On your second note, just because other teams aren't publishing what they are doing shouldn't lead you to believe that substantial work isn't being done to improve their overall programs. It's a little early to start making predictions in the NW.

The only thing they (ncrc) have to prepair for is what if Oregon and the Washington schools end up moving next year to the PAC conference , who will be invited next? But other then that I've always admired this conference and wish them the best of luck!

Negative 2 (thus far) how about some open dialogue, negative why? I am a PNW rugger and want the best for the region. So let's discuss the best way forward....... the PNW is a region with a lot of potential. Western has finally started tapping into the north of the border talent pool ....this is great to see (also their coaching has taken a massive step forward). UW will surprise a lot of people this next season (Adding an Eagle coach is a game changer). But what about the rest, how can they grow? why are they not growing (UO comes to mind here)? Why is dropping out of DIAA good for CWU? ...Just thinking aloud folks.

So this does look like a good move for the NCRC as a whole, but a bad one for CWU. I am not sure how they expect their developing squad to stay motivated and fine tuned now that they don't have games to play. Out of state second side matches are just too much of a financial burden for most clubs to take on. Also, in terms of DI-A, the new PAC 12 conference has forced a bit of reshuffling, this could result in even less games for CWU. I just hope that some of the NCRC teams make room in their schedules for friendlies with CWU's developing squad; otherwise, i see this as a big blow to the future of their program.
