That shows how very little you know about scrummaging and Props in general. Castrogiavanni is in all honestly the best scrummaging Prop in world Rugby. In terms of measuring the improvement of the Eagles scrum, in a game where he is involved, he is the yardstick in which to be measured.

Way too many balls over the course of these three games when out the back of the scrum. Ones that were struck well, and available at the back and not used until the scrum wheeled and turned to crap. People need to get over Todd and look at his play objectively. He is not good at the back of scrum, poor really. His pre-engagement is lazy, post engagement his legs are straight apply little to no push. And then the ball comes shooting out the back. Mokate is not good enough, or tough enough. He left each game he started, on his own power. Just checked out! That should unacceptable for a backrow guy. Louie would never do that. Lavalla is a penatly or a missed assignment waiting to happen. He works hard but is too much of a liabilty in the back row. Also he is calling the lineout- and if it were not for his selfishness in calling his own number the lineout would have been much more successful.

i thought you were going to talk about the players in the USA scrum, like biller and fry and stanfill and doyle, not that Italian dork....

Best the scrum has looked in many games..it was our greatest weak point until now. Clever at #8 looks perfectly placed. Of course it would make a big distinction if the ref would actually pay attention to who is pulling who down at scrummage...the long haired prop of Italy had the ref in his back pocket..all day long...

Dowling has had only a few weeks to make improvements, but seems to have made great strides. His pedigree is good. He was coached at Leinster by Ireland's prolific front row coach of choice, Roly Meates.

If this is an improvement for the scrum then imagine what it could do if most of them weren't playing out of position. The 2nd row should be Doyle and Lavalla, w/ Stanfill, Clever and preferably Manoa but probably Mokate as the back 3.

But let's discuss how many balls came out the back crappy due to Italian pressure. It's not just the fact that the ball was won by the USA, but was it ball that could be used well?
