At least for Sam Houston State it's just a step up in competition. The real joke is Texas Tech going from "too broke for the Division II playoffs" to the Premier Division.

I have no problem with conferences forming, I'm actually very excited about the Big Ten Rugby Conference. "Bowl games", however, would be terrible. We have a national championship already, that's all the post-season rugby we need.

I don't see it as a move backwards to create a college football-like atmosphere, but rather creating more awareness about the game of Rugby, which I love dearly. I hope that one day it'll surpass football as the most popular sport in the US.

I don't really like B-word either but I can understand why big schools are going to traditional conferences. Most athletic directors don't know anything about rugby but they do about traditional inter-school rivalries and conferences. If that helps rugby's acceptance and development at that school then great.

WOOOOOWWWWW! This is utter bull[censored, don't use this word], this whole thing feels too much like college football... Why can't we just have a steady conference that for more than a year. So now they are gonna send a second side team to get killed by every team in the SWC and have a side that will get killed by A&M and OU? I just don't get it.

Football Bowl Series? Really? The public hates the bcs and wants a playoff system. Leave it to good ol' rugby to move backwards..first it was the nonsense about D-I and D-IAA and now bowls...good grief

Every time I see a college coach use the word "brand," I want to stab something. College rugby is moving backwards because clubs from large schools think they can make money by playing lesser competition (which they won't) and trick administrators into thinking they're legit by putting up paper trophies in their club sports display cases. It's a sad movement for rugby in America.
