Great match by both Aztecs and Snakes! Great spirit by Aztec fans, although next year I would recommend the fans be on the opposite side of field from coaches/reserves. This will eliminate any friction between fans and reserve players. Good luck to Aztecs and Santa Rosa this weekend!

Just saying...if I'd been told that a Southern California team's sideline had been ringing bells and shouting during an opponent's kick, I'd have assumed I was hearing about Eagle Rock.

Well said Rich and Hacokie! I thought the Aztec fans were fantastic both Saturday and Sunday. Couldn't ask for anything more from our home crowd. Lifting us when we needed it, and making sure the other team felt the pressure when it was on. To blame a missed kick on the crowd is a joke. Snake River had a chance to finish the game and missed it, Aztecs had a chance and took it... Fact. Amazing game and Snake River are a great team and will be a force for many years to come.

"For all the fan haters, have you ever been to a live rugby match played in traditional rugby countries? Do you really think that all the fans just suddenly go quiet when the kicker lines up his kick?" Yes and yes, though it is a sadly dying ethic. I've even heard a PA announcer at a RWC match chide the few in the grown who didn't shut up...and got a big cheer from the crowd for it. The grown up thing, of course, is to accept that as our sport grows more professional abroad and popular here, we can expect that it will disappear before long. It does kind of bum me out to see people defending that though.

It was a great game, the best and most intense game I have been a part of. Both teams fought incredibly hard. It was an homor to be a part of. To blame the crowd for choking an easy kick is bollocks! Be professional about the situation, you don't see Carter or Wilkinson blaming the crowd for missing a kick. That's what happens at this level when you have a crowd. Deal with it like a professional or get knocked out and that's what happens to people who can not cope. On a good note, great game by snake river, great team.

First of all, I have nothing but respect for Snake River. Great team, well coached and will do well for years to come. They played a great game and it just didn't go their way on the day. For all the fan haters, have you ever been to a live rugby match played in traditional rugby countries? Do you really think that all the fans just suddenly go quiet when the kicker lines up his kick. Kickers get haggled when kicking all the time. There are always yelling, shouting, noise. Same goes for any professional sports event really. I've been in that kickers shoes. It is tremendous pressure and that kick could have missed even without fans cheering. It was the way it happened, and it was all left on the pitch.

I agree with SD Micah. That was the most intense rugby game I have been in in my 15 yrs of playing. I have nothing but respect for Snake River! And trust me both teams left it all out on the field. Ok, Our fans were loud. So loud that I missed a line out call and threw it to the wrong jumper. even

The Old Aztec vs. Snake River game was the most intense game of rugby I have ever been a part of. Both teams played their hearts out and I have nothing but positive things to say about my Snake River opponents. They played skillfully. They played hard. And they could have easily been the team heading to Glendale. Throughout this triple overtime marathon of a game the Old Aztec fans cheered loudly and passionately for the team they love. They are our wives, girlfriends, friends, and family so I take offense to OldRugbyFan referring to them and my club as a disgrace. I say we focus on the game itself rather than a difference of opinion on fan behavior. A game in which players from both teams gave every ounce of effort to compete an epic rugby battle.
