Stop sugar coating it...not gonna lie cal maritime cheated their way into a division for a national win. Checkin some facts how could a team like maritime be "forced" into a D3 national tournament when their previous year took them to the top 8 in D2. I admit they are and always have been a good team which is why they played D2...also a hot headed group of players and coach which saw an opportunity to gain a national title based upon their school requirements. CLU has always been a dominant so cal D3 rugby squad with an unbeaten 10-0 record. They beat defending national finalists occidental in qualifying match 30 to 18. From what i heard clu played 6 qualifying games while maritime only played one. I even watched the final game and to say maritime got no help from the refs would be impossible. Sucks for clu they got screwed pretty hard .

Cal Maritime did not want to play in NSCRO. They were forced to. DII decided to change the playoff schedule which would have eliminated them from playing in playoffs due to internship requirements and graduation. They also did not want to participate in the DIII NorCal league as it is very poor competition.

In fact they are in d3. SFSU is not recognized by the NSCRO only Cal Maritime and Sac City. Sounds like your club needs to get its act together. Why wouldnt a school with a student population of 800 belong in d3 NSCRO? SFSU has a student population of +30k, you should be playing D1 if you could get your act together.

Zeth you have confused d3 with NSCRO, no cheating transpired for them to be eligible for them to play for an NSCRO. Get your facts straight.

Cal Maritime did not play a single league game, and had no right to even play the lutherans, Maybe next time they will earn their spot to be there, rather than cheat their way there.
