premier? Well, OK, but, until that major sponsor emerges to sponsor the competition, the current regional setup will just have to do, since only about 5 teams in the whole country charge admission to their games and thus aren't in a position to fund cross-country travel on their own. So long as BYU and Utah play in the West region, there are going to be blow-outs. So long as Life and ASU play in the Mid-South, somebody's going to get creamed most weeks. Until someone can coerce a deep-pockets sponsor to put up $500K each year, the teams will have to keep funding their own travel. Great idea, but it ain't happening anytime soon.

this competition is a joke with too meny blowouts & not enough competetive teams. It needs to be revamped under the initial SuperRugby model of 10-12 teams playing a weekly roundrobin with a major sponsor who will help cover travel/accomadation expenses.Prior to selecting the 10-12 sides a playoff system to get into the competition should be put in place annually (something like the NCAA basketball qualifiers). Then we might just have a competition which will generate some interest outside the traditional rugby audience.Quality rugby will create a market for itself, not the lopsided sporadic drivel we have now.
