Two of the Claremont Colleges have football teams, so there are about 100+ football players on those campuses that aren't restricted from playing rugby because the teams are in the SCIAC and not the NCAA. Nice advantage.

Claremont Colleges isn't a team either. It's a collection of schools within a consortium. The NCAA doesn't even recognize the entire group. They eliminate the 2 grad schools and separate the remainder into 2 groups forming 2 teams. I'm not even sure how Claremont is allowed to compete in 15s to be honest.

There are at least two teams (Utah and Life) that could easily be considered favorites to win in Philly. Davenport, K-Town, San Diego State, CWU could all easily make a final 4 in Philly without anyone being suprised. There are another 6 or so teams with a history of being very competitive at 15s who are working with coaches with 7's experience who could easily put together a competitive team to play the short format. I'd be prepared to say right now that I would bet big on the winning team beating everyone in Philly with the possible exceptions of Dartmouth and Army, and even those games I would lean towards the Qualifier winner. It is worth noting that 6 of these teams had 7's all americans last year, Life(2), K-Town, Davenport, SDSU, UCLA, and CWU.
